In this mini-episode of Adventures in Business, Amani and Mandi are sharing their conference plans for 2025. It’s shaping up to be a busy year, and they’re telling you exactly where they’ll be, plus Amani and Mandi’s conference strategy – pre-conference, during, and post-conference – to make the most of their time there.
Mandi’s Conference Lineup
Mandi’s kicking things off with MPI Southern California’s Annual Conference (ReCon) at the end of April. She loves this one because it’s a great mix of Southern California planners and suppliers, plus top-notch education. This year, it’s happening in sunny San Diego!
Next up, she’s heading to HPN Global’s Annual Conference in Las Vegas in August. It’s a jam-packed few days of networking, speed dating with hotel partners, and connecting with vendors from around the world. Fun fact: it happens right in Amani’s backyard!
Mandi also has her eyes on ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Expo in Los Angeles in August. She’s especially excited because she applied to speak about the business of podcasting. The plan is to show associations why a podcast can be a game-changer for sponsorships and visibility.
And of course, no year would be complete without IMEX America in October. Mandi’s busy following up with her pals at Access about activating the booth again this year — stay tuned to see where she lands.
Amani’s Conference Calendar
Amani’s got a packed calendar too. In June, he’s heading to WEC (World Education Congress) in St. Louis. Not only does he love seeing industry friends from across the globe, but he’ll also be working behind the scenes interviewing people for digital TV. Plus, he’s co-hosting a session with Taylor Smith — big congrats to them for getting approved!
Another one on Amani’s radar is the Music Business Conference in Atlanta this May. It’s new territory for him, and if he can juggle his final exam schedule, he’s hoping to soak up all the music industry wisdom.
Come July, he’s locked in for the National Speakers Association Influence Conference in Phoenix. It’s a great opportunity for speakers to connect and sharpen their skills, and he’s even submitted a session proposal on music licensing.
Like Mandi, Amani’s planning to wrap up conference season strong with IMEX America in October — fingers crossed for booth updates soon.
Trade Show Strategy: How Mandi and Amani Prep, Attend, and Follow Up
Before we wrapped up, Mandi threw a great question out there: What’s your strategy when you’re not speaking at a conference, but just attending?
For Amani, it’s all about setting intentional goals:
He makes a short list of three to five key people or companies he wants to connect with
He looks ahead to see if there are specific sessions worth attending
And he keeps his eyes open for potential collaborations or partnerships
Mandi loves a thorough strategy — pre, during, and post:
Pre-event: She does a roll call on social media, letting people know she’s attending and building buzz.
During: She keeps her energy high, posts travel stories, and stays visible so people know where to find her.
Post-event: She always follows up with new connections to keep the momentum going.
